The Journey
For as long as I can remember, I've always wanted to be around children. As a little girl I longed for siblings. As a teen, I babysat and worked in day cares. It was inevitable then, that I became a teacher. Still, even after 10 years of teaching, I long for more.
I've always wanted to be a mother. Even more, I've always wanted to experience pregnancy. Knowing this, I had it all planned out. You know the drill - meet the guy, fall in love, spend a year engaged, another blissful year happily married, and finally, welcome baby.
And this would all happen by 30.
If not, there was Plan B. Follow through with the middle school playground pact - marry your best guy friend. Well, when Plan B gets married (thanks Mike), and you discover you're well past 30, you realize you should have considered a Plan C.
Plan C was not easy.
